"Saya nak!" (I want it) led from day one, riding an early wave that leaned Singapore and the US. Then on day 55 — barely a fifth of the way through a 261-day run — "Saya tidak ada iPhone/iPod Touch" (I don't have one) took over. It never gave the lead back, holding a steady 43-47% margin for the next 206 days straight.
The flip tracks who showed up: Malaysia and Indonesia, the poll's biggest sources, both leaned toward not owning the device, while smaller pockets in the US and Singapore kept wanting it. Wanting also skewed heavily male — 79% of "Saya nak!" voters — versus a near-even 60/40 split among the eventual winners.
- The single flip · Lead changed hands exactly once, on day 55, then locked in
- 206-day lockdown · Margin barely moved for the rest of the poll's run
- Gender gap on "want it" · 79% male among iPhone-wanters vs. 60% for the winning option
- Geography explains it · Malaysia and Indonesia leaned no-device; US and Singapore leaned want-it
