Maxamed Cabdullaahi Farmaajo took 1,339 of 2,554 votes — more than every other candidate on the ballot added together. The nearest rival, Sheekh Shariif Sheekh Axmed, managed 247. Four different men split the rest of the top tier within a few points of each other, and none of them came within 40 points of the top.
The margin held up everywhere voters logged in from. Somalia, Sweden, the US, the UK, Norway, Finland, Germany, South Africa, Hong Kong, Kenya — ten countries, ten different diaspora pockets, and every single one broke the same way. A field of 22 names, and only one of them showed up on every map.
