If a digital artist draws a character they dislike, a photographer snaps a shot of a protest about which they're indifferent, or a writer composes a piece about something they don't believe in, does that give their artwork any more or less meaning?
More meaning, because they are challenging their own views.
Less meaning, because art should be a vision into the artist's soul.
Neither. Art is interpreted wholly by how it makes the viewer feel.
