The employee should be kept, and an apology offered for destroying their life.
Who cares? It's not me!
Fire the employee! I want his job!
Fill the job and don't let him come back, and cause him and his family to be homeless.
Lay the employee off until a position is available.
The law only saves the job of an injured employee for 30 days. The employer has no obligation to save the job, despite the employers negligence.
