Ahmed Humaid | 23 | Humaid has been an active volunteer of Maldivian Red Crescent for the last three years and has taken first aid trainings in various places, worked as a team leader in various points during the Male’ Water Crisis. He also won Special Recognition award last year as the most active volunteer under 25 and was part of the Top 5 volunteers of 2014.

Ibrahim Dhaanish Nashid (Dan) | 21 | Dan worked for Manta Trust, facilitated Elections Fever 1 and 2, was a Marine Biology apprentice in the past year. He has been volunteering for the last 5 years, starting out with Tiny Hearts, JCI Kaafu, DYM & Red Cross. He was also a part of Commonwealth Changemakers and runs his won project called “Damage Control” since 2012 which aims to reduce impact of trash on swimming areas in Male’. He worked with UN in several projects, most notably in Community Based Theatre.

Maryam Faathika Fayaz | 17 | Faathika worked actively as a guide for last 5 years and achieved the highest ranking in Girl Guiding, the President Guide Award in 2014 which was achieved after completing numerous asks such as three months of community service at Family Protection Authority, several youth awareness programs and actively worked in creating and inaugurating the first Maldivian Society of University of Nottingham. Yoosuf Thahseen Ahmed | 24 | Yoosuf works as a Thakuru (butler) in Niyama and won ambassador of the month in almost every month in the last year. His story of how he became a Thakuru and his help in developing his island as well as excellent service won CEO’s Major Minor Stories award last year and he was invited to talk at a school in Britain regarding his story, Maldives and environmental change. His impeccable service has led to a guest donating more than $243,000 to his island Kudahuvadhoo.

Ahmed Shaam | 24 | Shaam coordinated the fifth Youth Leadership Programme by Democracy House at Bandos Island Resort where he trained 40 young people from 16 atolls. He also coordinated Katti Hivvaru Festival by Dhi Youth Movement, which was attended by 4000 people and is considered the biggest youth festival of 2014.He was awarded the Australian Awards scholarship and is currently a Bachelors in Development Studies student at the University of Newcastle.

Mariyam Shany | 31 | Shany co-founded and Organized Arts and Crafts Bazaar for local Maldivian creatives since 2013, represented Maldivian visual artists in the "Call of the Sangu" event at Dusit Thani Maldives in April 2014 by doing a live painting performances, showcased her work in three different galleries in Malaysia and got the opportunity to give an exclusive interview and be featured on the cover of the Inflight Magazine "vara' by Maldivian Airline.
