Matthew and I received beautiful dishes for our wedding but found they chipped easily. I spoke to someone at Bed Bath and Beyond who emailed me a shipping return slip and we returned them. Shortly after we received a gift card in the mail, but for only one set of dishes. I called and explained that we returned three sets. Oops! So, they sent us another except it was only for one set not two! So I called again and was told they actually refunded the money to the purchaser’s card and that they couldn’t give me a gift card anymore because of this. I said it was their fault not mine. Then I was told I would have to reach out to the person who got us the gift to get our money back. (In the end “as a one time courtesy” they said they will send us the gift card). Matt thinks that is is completely rational to ask the person who purchased our dishes for the money back and I think it’s completely ridiculous. What do you think?
I would totally ask the purchaser so for the money!
That is ridiculous. I wouldn’t ask the purchaser for the money.
