Kelly Slater finished first with 36% of the vote, but the path there was anything but settled. Joel Parkinson led the early and middle stretch before Slater moved ahead, briefly traded the lead back, then took it again.
That final sequence came in a three-flip burst, leaving Slater 225 votes ahead of Parkinson. Mick Fanning finished third at 13.5%, adding to a sharply divided field.
