El-Baradei jumped out front on day one with 39% and stayed in command for nearly two months, his margin slowly bleeding down from 39 to 21% as the field caught up. Sameh El-Awa held second the whole stretch, never closing the gap.
Then on day 59, Omar Suleiman surged past for good — and the race froze there for the remaining 333 days, both men locked at 21% apart to the finish. Final gap: just 276 votes, 21% to 20.9%, out of 336,678 cast.
