In a Facebook poll of 3,743 respondents, 51.6% chose “هيثم خلايلي”. How we count
Mohamed Rashad led comfortably through the poll's first week, powered almost entirely by Egyptian voters — his margin over the field topped 90% on day one and stayed near 90% through day three. Then, over day 6 and day 7, a wave of votes from Israel flipped the board: by day 8 Haitham Khalayli had overtaken him, and the lead never swung back.
From day 8 to the close 35 days later, the race barely breathed — Khalayli's margin held at 50-52% start to finish, ending 51.6% to 41.1% (1,932 votes to 1,537). Egypt, the single largest country bloc with 936 votes, stayed loyal to Rashad the whole way; it just wasn't enough once Israel's 931 voters locked in behind his rival.
