In a Facebook poll of 4,023 respondents, 60.1% chose “Philippe Geubels”. How we count
Philippe Geubels didn't just win this jury-favorite vote — he out-polled every other nominee put together. His 2,419 votes topped the combined 1,604 collected by the other eight jury members, including runner-up Frank Focketyn, who managed barely 30% of Geubels' total. The share never moved either: 60% on day one, 60% on day 46, with nothing in between to disturb it.
The lean ran strongest among men: 65% of all male votes went to Geubels, against 55% of women's, who spread more of their support toward Focketyn and Sien Eggers. Belgium and the small U.S. contingent both broke the same way. The real story is the flatness — a 4,000-vote race decided from the first ballot.
