After 31 days, the runner-up was sitting on a comfortable lead. Then the finish line moved on the very last day: 1,452 votes to 1,450. Out of nearly 4,000 ballots, two votes separated first from second — the tightest possible outcome, decided only after a ten-day advantage evaporated overnight.

The numbers behind it split sharply. The winner pulled 83% female support versus 71% for the runner-up, and Bangladesh's 295 voters broke almost entirely for the runner-up while the much larger U.S. bloc tipped the other way. Meanwhile the early pacesetter, who led for 20 straight days, finished third with barely a tenth of the vote.

  • Two-Vote Margin · 1,452 to 1,450 — the closest possible finish, decided last.
  • Final-Day Flip · The leader for 10 straight days lost it on day 32.
  • Gender Divide · Winner drew 83% female votes; runner-up only 71% female.
  • Bangladesh vs. USA · Bangladesh's 295 voters broke for the runner-up; the US decided it.
