In a Facebook poll of 12,533 respondents, 10.3% chose “Tirana”. How we count
Shkodra came out swinging, up 33% on day one and still comfortably ahead through the first ten weeks. But the capital was never far behind, quietly closing the gap week after week until day 86, when Tirana finally overtook it. The two cities traded the lead six more times in a tight three-week scramble.
By day 109 Tirana pulled away for good and held a steady 10-point cushion for the remaining 209 days — a slow-burn city rivalry that ate up more than a quarter of the poll's life before settling. Elbasani, Durrësi and Fieri rounded out a top five stacked almost entirely with Albania's biggest cities, while Kosovo's capital Prishtina cracked the top ten from outside the country.
- Early leader flips late · Shkodra led for 85 straight days before Tirana overtook it.
- Six-day tug of war · Lead flipped 7 times between day 86 and day 109.
- Country crossover · Prishtina and Prizren cracked the top 10 from Kosovo.
- Gender skew across the board · Men outvoted women roughly 2-to-1 in nearly every city.
