Taronga Zoo finished first with 554 votes, but its 29.5% share was hardly a mandate in a six-way contest. Cockatoo Island followed at 22.2%, while Sydney park, St. Peters reached 18.2%.
The only lead changes came in the opening stretch: Cockatoo Island briefly moved ahead before Taronga Zoo returned to the top. The leading viewpoint then held roughly 30% through the remainder of the 385-day poll.
