She is too highly evolved for such menial womanly tasks
After a terrible accident at the factory, the ghosts of crumbs past cursed her with the inability to tolerate gluten and since then she has never been able to generate magic in the form of an edible sandwich. And this is why she turned to the wisdom an guidance of the potatoes.
She hides her more extreme talents beneath a pathetic demeanour so that she can lead a normal and healthy life amongst the peasants
She's always far too intoxicated/high/otherwise inebriated to compile a sandwich
She can't afford bread
She's too busy chasing sheep in the hope that they will lead her back to her homeland where there are so many fush and chups that sandwiches will no longer be required
She just generally sucks at life
