What is it about Zombies that makes a large amount of the population so interested in them?

They are fun to watch!
It is fun to try to figure out how to survive if I was in that situation.
Zombies reflect us and what is to come.
Zombie apocalypse tales actually invoke hope amidst destruction and death.
Out of all horror stories, the Zombie apocalypse seems most possible to happen which makes it truly Scary!
No idea why I find them interesting, I just do.
It is just another fad soon to fade.
What's a Zombie again?
