Who is the world's best football manager?

Pep Guardiola jumped out to a commanding start, but the top spot changed hands twice in the first week — Guus Hiddink seized it on day 4, only for Jose Mourinho to grab it a day later. Sir Alex Ferguson didn't take the lead until day 9, nearly a tenth of the way into the poll's run.

Once Ferguson broke through, the race was over: he held a steady quarter-share lead for the remaining 341 days, closing at 24.9% to Guardiola's 17.3%. The country data adds texture — Italy alone bucked the trend, favoring countryman Fabio Capello while the rest of the leaderboard fell in behind Ferguson.

• Triple lead change · Top spot flipped three times in the first 9 days.
• 341-day lock · Ferguson led wire-to-wire from day 9 to the finish.
• Italy goes rogue · Italy leans Fabio Capello while most countries back Ferguson.
