New Zealand supplied the single largest voting bloc — 574 votes, better than a fifth of the field — and it didn't pick the winner. NZ leaned hardest toward Johny Kaushal, who finished third with 435 votes overall. The eventual champion, Sumit Bhatti, built his 1,104-vote total on blocs an ocean away: the United States (293), Bangladesh (110), South Africa and the UK all leaned his way.

That overseas surge explains the flip on day two that buried early leader Vikramjeet Singh. Sumit's fanbase pulled 329 of the poll's 336 total fan votes — a near-total lock nobody else came close to matching. Audiences split hard on gender too: Vikramjeet's support ran 89% male, while Sumit's base, fueled by that diaspora fan wave, was noticeably more mixed at 67% male.

  • NZ backs third place · New Zealand's largest bloc (574 votes) leaned toward third-place finisher Johny Kaushal.

  • Fan army · 329 of the poll's 336 total fan votes went to one option: Sumit Bhatti.
  • Gender gap · Vikramjeet's support ran 89% male versus Sumit's more balanced 67%.
