Bad refereeing in the return leg opened at 67% on day one and never dipped below half the vote for the rest of the poll, closing at 54.3% (2,244 votes), nearly double the next explanation combined with the third.
This wasn't a debate that got settled late — it was a verdict delivered immediately and defended for three months. Wasting an easy, wide lead in the first leg trailed the whole way at 30.4% (1,258), and poor psychological preparation never cracked 16% (634). Egypt supplied the largest single bloc of voters (168), backing the referee explanation.
