In a Facebook poll of 3,704 respondents, 20% chose “Lytton High School”. How we count

Share: ···

Lytton High School topped the board with 739 votes, but that's only 20% of 3,704 — meaning 4 in 5 voters backed someone else. Cromwell College trailed at 13.5%, and from there the field disintegrated into a long tail: seven schools bunched between 4% and 10%, and the bottom five combined for barely 3% of the total.

That's the real story of a 19-way field: no single school ever built a majority coalition. Lytton's lead held steady near 20-22% for most of the run, not because it dominated but because nothing else consolidated enough votes to catch it — a plurality win in a race too crowded for any true mandate.

  • Winner's share · Lytton took the top spot with just 20% of votes
  • Long tail · Bottom 5 schools combined for barely 3% of votes
  • Crowded middle · Seven schools bunched between 4% and 10%
  • Cross-border lean · Canada's 174 voters favored Nelson College, not Lytton
