¿Cuál de los grandes delanteros latinos crees que marcará más goles en este Mundial?
In a Facebook poll of 4,132 respondents, 34.3% chose “David Villa (España)”. How we count
Messi opened in control, claiming as much as 43% of the vote through the first month while David Villa trailed. Then, on day 34, the line crossed: Villa nosed ahead and held that edge for the remaining 295 days. But the margin kept shrinking, and by the final count Villa's 1,419 votes beat Messi's 1,412 — a gap of just seven votes out of 4,132 cast.
Geography told its own story: Mexico supplied the single largest voting bloc in the poll, and it backed Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who still finished fourth overall with under 10% of the vote. Gender split just as sharply — Diego Forlán pulled the most lopsided crowd, 86% male, while Blanco's voters were the most balanced in the field at 61% male.
