In a Facebook poll of 3,885 respondents, 63.7% chose “No”. How we count
No opened this poll at 73% over Yes and was never seriously challenged. The gap narrowed through the opening months — 73% down to 65% by day 62 — then locked at 64% on day 63 and held there, unmoved, for every day left in the poll's 145-day run. Final count: 2,473 No to 1,412 Yes, 63.7% to 36.3%.
The rejection wasn't evenly spread. Among voters who gave a gender, women made up 15.4% of the No camp but only 9.4% of Yes — opposition to the nomination pulled relatively more female voters than support did. And Egypt itself, source of 60% of all 3,885 votes, leaned No too: this was a home-turf verdict, not outside noise tipping the scale.
- Day-one margin · No led 73% to 27% on the very first day
- 64% for 80+ days · Margin froze at 64% from day 63 through day 145
- Women broke harder against it · Female share of No voters ran 15.4% versus 9.4% for Yes
- Home turf verdict · Egypt cast 60% of all votes and leaned No itself
