By the first day of voting, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) already held a commanding share, and nine days later he closed at 46.1% — 1,890 votes, more than the bottom eight finishers combined. Only 46 of those votes came from declared fans of the page, a 2% share, so the scale was built by ordinary readers across Nigeria, the UK, Malaysia, Germany and Kuwait, not a mobilized fan base.

Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, who died treating Nigeria's index Ebola case, finished second with 1,205 votes and drew the only real gender skew on the ballot — 199 of her roughly 1,195 gendered voters were women, the highest female share of any finalist. She won outright in the US, South Africa and Canada, while Nigeria, the UK and Malaysia stayed with Buhari: a diaspora-versus-home split hiding under the topline number.

  • Scale of the win · Buhari's 1,890 votes beat the bottom eight finishers combined
  • No fan brigade · Just 46 of 1,890 Buhari votes came from page fans
  • Female-leaning vote · Adadevoh drew the highest female share of any finalist
  • Diaspora split · US, South Africa, Canada backed Adadevoh; Nigeria and UK stuck with Buhari
