Buhari never trailed. He opened day one at 82% and cruised to a final 79.3%-20.7% landslide, turning what could have been a nail-biter into a rout — over 12,000 votes to just 3,189 for Jonathan across the poll's two-day run.

The lopsided split cut across borders: Nigeria itself, plus the UK, US, South Africa and eight more countries, all leaned Buhari — only Ireland's tiny sample broke for Jonathan. Fandom told the same story: zero Jonathan voters were page fans, versus 8 for Buhari, in an overwhelmingly non-fan, male-dominated electorate.

  • Day-one blowout · Buhari led 82% to Jonathan's 18% right out of the gate
  • No turning point · Buhari led wire-to-wire across both days, never challenged
  • Global consensus · 9 of 10 top countries leaned Buhari; only Ireland favored Jonathan
  • Fan gap · Jonathan drew zero fan votes versus Buhari's 8
