Make Your Selection Now For The Irish Echo Pub Of The Year. Only votes from Australia will be counted. Poll closes tonight at midnight and the winner will be announced next week.

Four lead changes made the opening stretch a genuine contest, with Mick O’Malley’s, Cock n Bull and Scruffy Murphy’s all taking turns at the front. Scruffy Murphy’s then surged decisively, finishing with 70.3%—more than four times Cock n Bull’s 17.8%.

The voter mix helps explain the contrast: Scruffy’s supporters were 71% male, while Cock n Bull’s were nearly evenly split at 51% male. Australia’s largest bloc leaned Cock n Bull, but the overall result strongly favored Sydney’s Scruffy Murphy’s.

• Landslide finish · Scruffy Murphy’s captured 1,146 votes
• Early volatility · The lead changed hands four times
• Gender contrast · Scruffy voters were 71% male versus 51% for Cock n Bull
