Si came out of the gate at an 82% share on day one and No spent all 302 days chasing a margin that started nearly insurmountable. The gap never closed to a contest — it just slowly eroded, shedding a point or two every few weeks as Si settled from a blowout into a comfortable 67.4% to 32.6% final split.

Geography explains why the erosion never became a threat: Chile and the United States, the two biggest vote blocks, both leaned Si, as did Costa Rica, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia and Ecuador. No's only real footholds were El Salvador and Honduras — everywhere else in the sample, the question was settled before it started.

  • Day-one landslide · Si opened at an 82% share and never came close to losing it.
  • Slow, steady fade · Si's lead eroded from 82% to 66-68% over 302 days, never flipping.
  • No's only strongholds · El Salvador and Honduras leaned No; every other top country favored Si.
  • Two-to-one finish · 1,768 votes for Si against 855 for No at the close.
