This poll never wobbled. "No, in nessun caso" opened at 58% on day one and closed at 59.5%, a margin that barely moved across 55 days and 4,095 votes. The nearest rival, paid voluntary overtime, topped out at 31.4% — never within 27 points of the lead.

The real story is what got buried: only 9.1% of voters would accept mandatory extra hours at any price, and just 1.2% said they're already doing unpaid work from home. Women rejected the idea harder than men — 1,518 of the 2,436 "no" votes were female, versus 564 male — and outside Italy's 3,000 votes, every other top country broke the same way.

  • No movement · Lead held at 58-60% every single day, no turning point
  • Rejection vs acceptance · 31.4% wanted paid voluntary hours; only 9.1% would go unpaid or mandatory
  • Gender gap · Women rejected it far more: 1,518 female "no" votes vs 564 male
  • Fans stayed quiet · Non-fans outnumbered fans roughly 28-to-1 across every option
