Cairo never trailed. It opened at 31% on day one, held roughly a third of every vote cast across 163 days, and closed at 32.1% — 2,010 votes — with zero lead changes and no rival ever close. Alexandria sat a distant second the entire run, finishing at 14%, less than half Cairo's total.

The real split isn't geographic — it's gender. Men outvoted women roughly 2-to-1 across nearly every governorate, from Cairo's 1,325 men to 567 women down to Qena's 27-to-2. Gulf-based expats also broke hard for their own regional option, with 306 votes and almost none straying to page fans.
